Galleries
If you would like to upload a set (or any number of sets) of images as a gallery, simply come here and click on "create a new gallery". When you create your first gallery, the engine will create a new page in your site and a new menu link to the gallery page for you.
You will be prompted for a name and description of the gallery. The Short Description you enter is displayed on the galleries listing page. The Long Description is displayed in the gallery itself. If no long description is entered, the short one is used.
As with other elements such as menus and pages, you can hide a gallery by making it dormant.
You can also assign a password to a gallery. A passworded gallery will only be viewable by those you distribute a password to. Visitors will be informed that it is a private gallery and prompted for the password.
Once you have saved your gallery description, click on Upload in its listing.
The gallery function is designed to allow you to take your images directly from your camera to your site with no fuss. Upon upload, the engine will create a thumbnail and a small preview sized image for you automatically.
You may upload up to 5 images at a time.
As you upload your images, you will build and see a list of the images in the upload area. You can then also add notes to be displayed describing individual images if you like.
To upload more images later, add notes, or to delete images from a gallery - just return to the upload function for the gallery and see the listing of images in the gallery.
Slideshows (also known as Photostreams).
Slideshows display the images from a gallery one after another, moving from one image to the next after an interval defined in seconds (you choose the interval).
To make slideshow, first use Photoshop or your editor of choice to make the all the images the same height and width (in pixels). Then upload them into a gallery. If you don't want to also use the gallery as a gallery per se, make both the gallery and the link that points to it dormant.
Then give us a call, and we'll build your slideshow as a "page part" (insertable page) which you can place anywhere in your site that you like. You can locate a slideshow in the header, in a side column, or in the content area on a page.
If you have any problems or questions, or course, give us a call.
