Calendar


The Calendar module is a very nice and flexible plugin for your site. You can use it for simple announcements and timed missives. You can also use it to collect attendance and registration information for physical events. Events are displayed in your calendar and click through pages are automatically generated for your events based on the information you enter. If you would like to use the Calendar in your site, just let us know.


Entering a New Event

Event Name - This is the long name of the event that is displayed when a user clicks into it for more information.

Event Short Name - This is the name used for the event in calendar itself.

Start & End Dates - The dates that the event starts and ends on. If it is a one day event, enter the same date for both.

Event info - Enter the full information for your event here. If you would like to associate the event with a page in your site, you can do that as well. This allows you to leverage the formatting capabilities of a regular page (plus pictures, documents, etc.). The text entered into the event info field, and the associated page, will be displayed together for the event click through.


Check the box to Collect Registration Info if you need or want to collect attendance information for a physical event.

Enter a date that you will Accept registrations until.

You may ask up to 3 short free form questions of your attendees. If you need more room for a long question, see the entry for Additional Information below.

Up to four Pricing / Fee variations may be entered (price per adult, child, etc.). If your event is free with a simple attendance count needed, just enter "$0.0 per person". At least one rate / per entity entry is required.

The calendar module can collect advance payment for your event as well. Your choices are by Credit Card, PayPal, Invoice, or simply at the door. If by invoice, enter instructions and address to which the payment is to be sent and by when. Invoice instructions will be emailed to the visitor upon signing up for the event.

Additional Information. Use this entry to ask for extended information such as meal choices, special accommodations, etc.

Enter the email address of the person coordinating the event in the Notify entry box. When a visitor signs up for an event, they will receive an emailed receipt. A sign-up notification will also be emailed to the address entered here. Use the download from the list of events to download and view the complete registration info including credit card payments for processing.


Cleaning up old Events

You can delete single events or quickly and easily delete a range of old events. Just enter "Delete older than..." date and click Delete.

Events and any related Registration submissions are deleted together.
