Store Settings

For the most part, these settings are "set and forget", but they are nonetheless very important as they govern not only the look and feel of some aspects of your store, but the way it works and how orders are fulfilled.

Email address for Order fulfillment - This is the email address of the person who runs the store and will receive order notifications and respond to submitted questions. Required, and must be a single address. Ask us to help you set up an Alias (an address that forwards) if you need multiple users to receive the notifications.

Accept Payments by - List Credit Cards accepted, separated by commas. Enter the PayPal id (email address) of your account if you are willing & able to accept these payments as well. And remember, when a PayPal order is received - wait until you also receive confirmation from PayPal that the payment was completed.

Low Inventory Warning - This is the number of pieces at which you wish to be warned for re-stocking your items. Your inventory page will then denote items with low levels.

Display Item with Zero Inventory - Tells the store whether or not you wish to list items that are not in stock. This only effect listings. Vistors can not place orders for items with no inventory.

Cart Lifespan - The number of days in which visitors item selections will remain in their virtual cart before actual purchase. When items do expire from their carts, visitors will receive an automated email informing them that the item has been removed from their cart and they are invited to return an re-add it. This helps keep your customers engaged and encourages them to return and complete the sale.

Cart Checkout - In Normal mode, the store allows for a virtual cart where your customer can load up their cart with any items they want and to decide what they want to or are able to purchase on their visit. They can then return on a later visit to complete the purchase of the rest of the items they had chosen. In Streamlined mode, the virtual cart is skipped and visitors are directed immediately to the checkout process. This mode is more conducive to impulse sales. Try each of the settings and test out your store to see which experience you like most and want to present...

Display Cart Status at - You can display your Cart Status and Login bar at the Top and/or Bottom of your pages. If you select neither, your store will display your products with no ability to purchase. Some of our store owners use this option to display a catalog of items online that they prefer to fullfil offline in their physical store.

Display Teasers from - If you have your store set up with multiple Categories, the front page of your store will display a teaser (a randomly select item) from either All, or the the category(s) you select here. You might want to set up Sale or Seasonal categories for your items. This allows you to spotlight those categories. Hold the CONTROL Key to select multiple categories.

Default Browse Mode - Visitors can browse your store by Images only or by Images + Descriptions. This setting allows you to choose the default presentation mode.

Number of Categories per Row - How many Categories do you want to display at the top of your pages before display wraps to the next line...

Number of Items to display per Page - Row and Column settings for how many items to display on the page. In Image mode, the Row value will determine how many items are shown. Row and Column values are used for Images + Descriptions mode. The number of items you will want to display will be dependent on your site layout and the size of your smaller item images.

Small Image AutoSize - When adding or editing an item in your Store, if you do not specify a Small Image, one will be generated for you from the Large Image to this default dimension (If you do specify a Small Version, it will be accepted as-is). This setting, along with the Large Image Maximum, allows you to take images straight from your digital camera to your site with no editing. The default Small Image AutoSize width for store items is 150 pixels wide (height remaining proportional).

Large Image Maximum - This is the maximum width for the Large Image of items in your Store. If you upload a Large Version image wider than this set dimension, it will be automatically resized for you. This setting, along with the Small Image AutoSize, allow you to take images straight from your digital camera to your site with no editing. The default Large Image Maximum width for store items is 600 pixels wide (height remaining proportional).

Note - If you upload Additional images for a product, they will be re-sized to conform to your site`s general large image click-thru size setting. See the General Settings page for more information.

Image Border Thickness - Display borders around item images and how thick? Zero turns off.

Display Search Box - Allows visitors to search for items in your store.

Accept Questions - Determines whether you wish to field and answer questions from your visitors about your store items. If this is enabled, a link on the item full description page will invite them to ask a question about the item. Questions will be sent to the store operator email address.

Shipping Notes - Enter any notes here regarding combining of items for shipping, etc.

Sale Completion Message - Use this to embelish the post sale message that is displayed at your site and in the emailed receipt to the customer.
