Image Station

The Image Station makes prepping images for use in your pages as easy as creating your pages...

Here you can

easily resize your images,

and flip or rotate them if needed.

You can also apply many special effects like

grayscale and inversion,

rounded corners,

shadowing,

and mirroring.

Begin by visiting the Image Station page from the link under the Content menu dropdown.

Upload an image to work with.

Once you have uploaded one or more images, you will see your images as a list from which you can Rename, ReSize & Rotate, or Delete. Please note that this area is intended as a temporary workspace. Your image(s) will be automatically deleted after 3 days if you do not delete them yourself.

To rename an image, click on the Rename link and on the following page simply change or enter an entirely new basename. The file extension will be maintained for you.

To resize and apply other editing to an image, click on the ReSize & Rotate link. On the next page you will see your image and its' current dimensions and the options to select the correct orientation for your image, the ability to enter a new size (only the width is necessary - height will remain proportional), and the option to apply effects to the image.

Apply all off the effects you wish to your image in one pass. Most of the images you will be working with will be jpg images. jpg images employ what is called a lossy compression to make them smaller in filesize, and like old fashioned photocopiers, they tend to loose quality each time you create a new copy from one. For instance, you can correct the orientation for a picture that was taken sideways, reduce its' size, and add a border all at the same time.

Effects like Reflection and DropShadow require a basecolor. This is the color of your content area / page background. For most of you it will be White. If you are unsure of what color to use, Please ask us and we'll look it up for you...

Lastly, enter a new name for the new image you are creating, or leave it blank and one will be generated for you (and if you do not like the new name, remember you can just rename if from the list).

Once you have finished working with your image(s), return to the Images page.

Please refer to the instructions for the Images page to learn how to move your new images into your Image area.
