Naheed M Qayyum, MD – Chairperson (IL)
Dr. Naheed M Qayyum assumed the office of Chairperson of Board of Directors in January 2019. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Human Development Foundation since its inception. Dr. Qayyum, along with her husband, is one of the Founding Members of HDF. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Qayyum has held various offices in the Board Executive Council and has served as the chairperson of the local Chicago Network.
She is deeply committed to the mission and vision of HDF and brings with her a passion to serve humanity. Her volunteer work takes her to HDF Project sites regularly. She brings with her a broad-based leadership experience from her community service. She is the past President of PPS, Chairperson of Board of Trustees of PPS, Secretary -Treasurer of APPNA SEHAT, and is a lifetime member of APPNA and PPS.
In her professional life, as a graduate of King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, she is an Allergy & Immunology specialist and is currently in private practice in the Chicago suburbs. Dr. Qayyum is married to Dr. Ijaz Qayyum and has four children.

Javed Khan – Vice Chairperson (CA)
Javed Khan has more than 12 years of professional non-profit experience with numerous organization and served as the Chairperson and treasurer of the Muslim Community Association. He founded Information Technology systems integrator Jeskell, Inc and is the president of Safeeon’s business consulting firm. Before starting Jeskell, Javed spent nine years with General Electric and five years in sales for IBM. He also earned an M.S.M.E from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the University of Santa Clara. Javed Khan has been a member of HDF Board of Directors and Chairperson of the HDF Silicon Valley Network for several years.

Shahzad Kazi – Treasurer (IL)
Mr. Kazi is a banker with over 30 years of experience. He began his career with Exxon in 1986 and then joined Union Texas Petroleum in 1988 and worked there for four years until joining Citibank as Credit Manager Mortgages in 1992. He held various positions with Citibank in Asia. Mr. Kazi then worked for ABN-AMRO from 1999 to 2007 as Group Senior Vice President Consumer Credit for emerging markets and then for North America. He then joined HSBC where he worked as Executive Vice President and head of Risk Strategy for North America and was responsible for a portfolio of over $400 Billion. He then worked for SunTrust Bank in various roles and Mosaic as Chief Risk Officer.
Mr, Kazi is also a Senator of Junior Chamber International, headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida.
Mr. Kazi earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from NED University, Karachi, a law degree from the University of Karachi and an M.B.A. from University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Fatima Hussain is an IT professional working for a major bank. She has been a part of Human Development Foundation for the past 15 years in various capacity. Fatima is currently serving the organization as the secretary to the HDF board of directors as well as leading the organization’s Chicago network.
